Why is this section hidden to non members?

The first clause of the agreement with Champion Dragways states that we cannot advertise this event on public forums - well that just sucks, so I've decided to hide it so you have to register, our form of becoming a member, to see the details.

I cannot see a problem with us advertising the event on other forums in the open, as that would appear as word of mouth, but on here I'm afraid I'm going to have to keep it hidden

I dont see it as an issue. The Primera drag day was publicly advertised and nothing came of that. I suspect the clause is there to prevent promoters from trying to secure a cheap 'club hire' and then putting out loads of avertising to bring in the punters and make profits. I suspect that the words 'public forum' were used to cover all forms of media, TV, radio, newspaper internet ect.

Champion wont cancel the contract just because the event was listed on the club message board.

Champion Dragway - General Conditions of Hire
1. ... It is to be noted that this application is in relation to private hireage and advertising on open forums, etc to the general public, including the advertising or collection of gate fees is not permitted.

Pretty black and white. I called up to confirm, and yes it must not be publicly advertised in any form ...

I would say that is because the wouldnt want you to do a better job of running a event than they do  or making more money that they cant get a cut of

its different rates to hire track for club day and event to make money.

They charge more for an event to try and make money and want a certain percentage of the gate takings as well. so it costs say $5000 to hire track + 25% of gate takings, if you only take $4000 on the gate you still have to pay the initial track hirage and the $25%. Dont know the exact amounts but thats just a guide
