Been down the road your travelling.

Went as far as body off, bare chassis, VH41 & auto dummied into position, drop cab back on....................no fit. I separated the engine & box, moved the engine forward until I could lower the cab then found the steering column wouldn't go back in, unless I wanted to run it as a V7.

It will fit but you will have to change to rack & pinion steering & figure out how to re-route the steering column. Fabricate some headers to go tight to the block & you'll be sweet. Good luck though, your gonna need it

Yeah, I tried that too. But I got a bit worried about the Utes centre of gravity so flagged it for a VG30DET instead :wink:

I wish I still had all the photos of the swap but I lost it all when my old hard drive crashed.

This is about the only one I can find, the chassis/engine is just to the right of the cab. I do have a photo of the VH41 sitting in the engine but its not a digi photo so I'd have to scan it

Yeah they are. Just make sure you get all the lines & the rod from the steering column to the box as they are different lengths between Power Steer & Non-power steer (among other things)
