Bringing it back from the dead

Bringing it back from the dead

Postby R3SPCT » Fri Jun 26, 2009 11:30 pm

Ok, poor old Nissanz has struggled a bit lately. Im sure there is a few peeps that call in, but posting is dead, and events non existent.

So, what do we need to do?

1st up, yes i have some stickers, ive had some issues lately and been slack, but if you want them, pm me or text me on 0210634169.

2nd, lets get some members rides back up

I'll try and organise some events, a poker run has been on the cards for a while, i'll get onto this and post up a thread.

Maybe we need to simplify the forum a little, remove a few of the sections until there is a need.

Also want to talk to Torque Perf about another open dyno day at some stage, been tuning my car and its about time i find out how much more power it has than Kieran ;)

Oh look. A post...

Yep some events would be good. I still remember the first one we had, from Shaun's out in Greenlane out to Piha, where I got lost... Ah those were the days!!

I'd like to see this forum back to the 'Glory Days' as well.

I used to like to come here when the other forums were covered with silly posts about nothing, this was always a haven for real knowledge and experience; now it's all too quiet here.

I'm also hoping for a meet; what about an impromptu gathering at, say Mc D's Greenlane, see whee the mood takes it from there?
If you plan on making even more HP - grab your ankles. Uncomfy now, but you will HAVE to do it eventually!

Sounds like a plan... Haven't been to a Nissanz meet :?
Why wouldn't the sticker work with the tints? Mines all good.
Stuck with SR16VE just to be different...

The stickers go on the outside Juleon you muppet :P

Alright, a meet you say. How about beginning on Sunday July 18th (gives us HEAPS of time to get people together and save some coin) at Greenlane McDonalds at 11.30am, and we cruise out to Henderson for some gokart racing??

Anyone keen or not keen for that?

Good to see you back online here Darryl. Pity about your delusions of grandeur regarding your power output :P

Sadly this place has been neglected as many of the original crew that drove it have:
1. Become more interested in producing sprogs than Nissans,
2. Moved on to other makes / types of cars,
3. Given up due to the lack of activity here.

The active membership of this forum has never been huge, but recently with no direction or events it's just withered. I don't mean to point the finger, but Nissanz needs someone at the top actively pushing it, which I feel isn't happening at the moment. If we want it to be a technical resource for Nissan models then perhaps it should be more easily visible by search engines - when searching for "Nissan" NZ websites in Google it should be on the first page.

I for one gave up posting due to the inactivity here, and the rather unfriendly layout. Certainly a clean-up of the layout would be a good idea - what is the point of having a "business advertising" section with no topics in it :?:

Sounds like a consensus to merge a few of the topic - PM me your idea's and I'll make some changes if the trend points to particular areas.
I do want the forum to survive this quiet period, so let me know if theres any other changes that should be on the cards.
The economy is a bit hard on people atm, but meetups at already organised events like winter drag wars could be a good start, as the organising is done for us. Theres nothing stopping people organising an event for everyone to participate in - just put up an idea and it will develop from there

A meet would be cool. 8) Been ages. :( Wasn't the last small meet this forum had was that cruise around Eden organised and we cruised all round the back roads of Papakura, Karaka and over to Hunua? If there's not been another since, that's agesss ago. Mind there have been a few Primera Club meets, so many crossover members anyway. 8)

James suggestion of the 18th July is cool, or a dyno day.
