electric window regulator... model specific?

My Jap import, n13 3door 88 pulsar broke its electric window regulator cable on the LH, and it seems hard to get one second hand or one online that isn't hundreds of dollars.
There's plenty out there for sentras of all types (3door, 5 door etc) even some on trademe for the EXA. Does anyone know if these are interchangeable, or are they always really specific to the model? I think the EXA, despite looking very different to my hatch, might have the same door shape... anyone with experience with this?

Did just the cable break? If so you could just repair the cable.

If its the motor itself, if you remove it then it should have a model number that you can ask around on trademe and match it up. I think that pretty much all nissans of the late 80's use the same eletric window motor.
