Yes, I had investigated the T30 for parts as well. However, they are based around the new ATTESA system, like your Y11, so that's about as far as I got with it as I wanted to keep AWD and I would have needed to replace the rear diff as well.

The link to the B13 conversion is an eye openier. I didn't realise the cable shift uses connectors on top of the box. That would've made things a lot easer.
However, after thinking about it, there is still no SR based manual 4wd gearbox even with the new ATTESA. All the new ATTESA boxes are for the QR block. And since the 4wd and 2wd bellhousings are different (the area around the drivers side axle hole is a lot larger on the 4wd where it mates with the transfer case) it's still a dead end.

I've got most of the parts together now, just picked up GTiR front and rear gearbox mounts and hangers, so will start pulling the car apart within a few weeks.
Hopefully the only parts that will need welding will be the mount cradles to chassis rail and modifying the Y11 4wd crossmember with some extra steel plate which will then be drilled to match up with the W11's bolt holes. Once I have the car apart I'll have a much better idea of how it will need to be modified.

Bugger. It's an ideal solution for me if I can get one. YD22 xtrail 6 speed will give me lower revs on the highway and a similar first gear for 4wd work. Shame the YD22 Xtrail wasn't sold here and freight from the UK will be a killer.
What switches the rear diff's clutch packs on the W11? Is it from the wheel speed sensors? If so wouldn't that still work with a gearbox swap?

Are the 6 speed P12's using the QR motors? How do they compare to the SR?

6spd P12's use the SR20VE 20V (basically a NA version of the VET, so different head to the standard 20VE, fly by wire throttle etc).

Not sure what controls the clutch pack, I know on the Murano (which uses much the same system) it was computer controlled, but I guess wheel speed sensors (ABS sensors) would make sence.

Just figured I'll throw you guys a bone.

Anyone who can find me the 6 speed from the UK YD22 diesel X-trail can have my 4wd Rs5F50 box.
