N14 Rear Sway Bar

Postby iAN » Wed Jan 20, 2010 11:05 pm

hay everyone!
just a quick Q

has anyone had any luck with rear swaybars on a FWD 3Door N14? mine snapped :? was hoping to upgrade

whiteline list a bar for an N14, which would be the 5Door Liftback(AUS)

im under the understanding
N14(5door liftback)
N14(3door hatch)
B13 are all different

anyideas?
recommend anyone that'll make a custom bar?

thanks heaps!

you could use the mounts for your old one, providing they are still ok, and just get someone to weld a new middle section in...

I'm pretty sure all the N14's have the same rear end setup, so the Whiteline N14 one (which is probably designed for the GTiR) should fit.
The N15 has a torsion beam (sp?) rear end, so the swaybar for it is different.

the gtir is differnet again, whiteline have listings for both GTiR and 2WD N14s

australia never got the big influx of 3 door hatch imports like we did
which would lead me to believe that the bar they list was designed specifically for the AUS spec 5Door Lift back

i might ring nissan and see if the part numbers match up, worst case if i order the bar from autolign i guess i can return it if i have a problem?

The GTiR one is probably stiffer than the general N14 one.
If they have a listing for an N14 (3 and 5 doors are the same) it'll be the same as the Jap spec N14 (pretty sure the only diff between jap and aus spec is some trim stuff).

Hey,

pretty sure the gtir sway bar mounts to the chassis and shock differently due to the 4wd - the fwd sway bar mounts centrally to the back of the shock, but would clash with the drive shaft in a gtir.

sorry, not sure about the 4dr lift back swaybar, but would hazard a guess at it being the same as a fwd......
